Green Stamp Certification

We are pleased to announce that CmykCards have now been awarded Green Stamp Certification Level 2 (Beyond Compliance). We have spent a great deal of time looking at our NEW production facilities and ways to minimise our impact on the environment. Although 90% of our processes were considered environmentally friendly, there was a couple of chemical storage/disposal and procedural matters that needed attention.

With more and more clients demanding printers to meet minimum environmental standards, we have decided to take it one step further, addressing our entire production line. We believe there is more to protecting the environment than just printing on (expensive) recycled paper.

The program has identified and focuses on several key areas considered essential to reducing the environmental impact of the printing industry.

These areas are:

• Correct disposal of waste products (preferably to recycling or reuse)
• Storage practices associated with chemicals, inks and other hazardous substances;
• Wastewater management
• Prevention of pollution of ground and storm water systems;
• Energy and resource conservation;  and
• The development and implementation of environmental management plans.

Green Stamp is an initiative of the PIAA and the Department of Environment. There is a great deal of information and guidelines that can be applied to printers Australia wide.
